They follow because they understand, they share in and they believe in where the organisation is headed (its purpose) and because they agree with the way it is being tackled (its values and behaviour).
And yet so often, when they recruit, develop and promote their people, governments, businesses and organisations everywhere base their choices, above all else, on qualifications, accredited competencies and technical skills. They ignore, at their peril, the value of leadership.
They ignore the inescapable truth that every business, every organisation, every team stands or falls on the quality, the commitment, the shared culture of its people.
