Why do I commend them to you?
Trust – the inescapable foundation of every human relationship, in business and in life. Trust has to be earned: a new title doesn’t guarantee your people will trust you. Relationships have to be worked on – you know that already. And, once that trust is broken, even a suspicion that you can’t be trusted, what happens? You tell me. Trust – show them, earn it, enjoy the results.
Passion – people love working with and doing business with people who are passionate about what they do. So often I have seen how it can be a key differentiator. Passion is infectious too. If you, and your people, feel passionate about they’re doing and why, you can produce astonishing results. And the opposite is true as well. Passion – highly recommended.
Fun – Where do I start? Simply by saying that laughter really does make the world go round. And that is especially true in the team environment. It binds people together. It’s a vital pressure valve. And it’s often the one thing we recall afterwards on the way home. The one thing you tell your loved ones about. There’s an old saying “I didn’t bring you here to enjoy yourselves”. A leadership killer. Go on, show them you’re feeling positive, optimistic. Make them smile.
